I’ve updated the google_hilite mod for TextPattern by Dean Allen. I’ve gone ahead and changed it into a plugin, so rather than uploading a php file and inserting php into your pages, you now just insert tags to get the same functionality.

Violent Crime, Video Games, Legislation and Litigation

It doesn’t matter if it’s jazz music, swing dancing, comic books, rock and roll, rap or video games. As every generation grows old, they seem to have this need for a scapegoat to absolve themselves of blame when the younger generation gets into the same trouble they got into as children.

According to CNN, Barack Obama is one of the most popular choices for the ’08 election on the Democrats side. So far he’s only said that he may run in 2008, but that seems to be enough for 17% of the registered democrats polled.

And the 2008 Presidential Election Goes To...
1182 days ago by Jonathan Howard
The Republicans have a very good chance of winning the 2008 Presidential election. I know, we just finished with a midterm election where the Democrats gained a majority in both branches of congress. I also know that people are sick and tired of the way the Republicans have handled this war. At this point, though, the country is still split about 50/50 along party lines, and going forward, the Democrats aren’t going to have many opportunities to gain headway.

Gambling for Fun! And Profit?

So the other day, my coworker was telling me about how it’s possible to win over a long period of time at video poker. According to Wizard of Odds , the long-run payout of certain video poker machines is 100.77%. Now, that looks great on paper, but let’s look at it a bit more realistically.
100.77% is 1.0077. That means, for every dollar you spend, in the long run you’re making less than a penny. Is this really considered making money? Also, it’s not all video poker machines. It’s just certain machines at certain casinos, and which machines they are may change.
It’s not so bad if you enjoy playing the game, but if you don’t enjoy playing video poker, there are much quicker ways to earn money while sitting in one place.
